Reef Manta

Here, at Manta Point, we most commonly see the reef manta ray or “Mobula Alfredi”. These manta rays have a wingspan of about 4-5.5m and are identified with their unique belly pattern (unique spot formation, kind of like our own unique fingerprint!)

The other two species are Oceanic Manta, and more recently – the Atlantic Manta!

Quick tips to remember them:
🪸 REEF MANTA: Spot pattern on belly
🌊 OCEANIC MANTA: T-shape on shoulder
👽 *NEW* ATLANTIC MANTA: V-shape on shoulder
