The Eastside of Nusa Penida is even more beautiful than all the other dive sites around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The reason is that not many dive centers go here. Sampalan and Karang Sari are famous for the thresher sharks, stunning canyons, and deeper walls. The Mola? Yes, they are everywhere.

Book your dive trip to Sampalan dive site
Sampalan features some of Indonesia’s finest table coral formations. Typically dived as a south-to-north drift. The gently sloping reef reveals exceptionally well-preserved corals interspersed with massive barrel sponges. The site is teeming with life, including turtles, schooling sweetlips, bannerfish, triggerfish, angelfish, and fusiliers, making it one of the most vibrant and visually rich dives in the region.
Going further down the Eastside of Penida is hard to reach because the currents can be horrendous, or the waves and wind are not in our favor. If you are interested in diving Sampalan, let us know beforehand, so we plan that dive trip. An extra diving fee is charged, but it is worth diving! We will bring some extra snacks and drinks on the boat to make it the perfect diving day!
